If you want to fall in love in today's world, then get up and go to Paris — take a walk like a poet. In early 2025, the author arrived in Paris, accompanying his partner to different model casting calls each day. Along the way, they took one photo a day, hoping to compile them into a photo book upon returning to Taiwan. But within a week, the “game” was over—for everyone except the author. Paris Walks is composed of two parts. The first follows the author and his partner through everyday walks in Paris—moments that are soon interrupted by dogs, leading into quarrels within their relationship. Paris Stroll captures the author’s emotions during that time, arranged like a poem through images. Chapters such as “Walk,” “Shooting the Annoying ‘Interrupted Conversation,’” “I Broke the Landlord’s Filter Pitcher,” “The Memory of a Single Graveyard,” “I Notice These Miserable Things,” and “How Dreams Occur,” eventually lead to the second part, “brise”. In brise, the author walks away from conflict, soothed by the gentle breeze, and finally returns—to the partner, and to the first chapter: Walk. The book forms a circular journey through intimacy—from walk to breeze, and breeze to walk— symbolizing a continuous cycle of change within the unchanged everyday. In brise, readers are invited to reflect: how much breeze does one need to temporarily mend a relationship before returning to it? Readers may choose from five lengths of breeze—from no breeze at all to one as long as 5.3 cm— customized to the state of their relationship. As you turn the pages, feel the “breeze” created by your own motion. The book originates from an interactive exhibition by the artist.
